Leaders Bank received the Pillars Diamond Sponsorship Award, marking the second year in a row that it has been awarded for its major business contribution.  The award was presented to Leaders January 26th, at the Pillars Ball 2008, "Magia de Mexico."  Pillars CEO John Shustitzky recognized Leaders with the Diamond Award for its outstanding partnership and support for Pillars through its donation to the annual fundraiser.

"We rely on local businesses like yours to help us further our mission, which will ensure that members of our community who are in crisis will receive the quality, comprehensive social services they need" stated John Shustitzky.

"The vitality of a community comes from businesses and the people in it.  When businesses step up and support those in need in our community, they not only present themselves as leaders in the community but also are helping the very people they serve", says Sara Mikuta, CFO Leaders Bank and longtime board member of Pillars and predecessor organizations.  "Safe, secure homes bring stability to a community.  Pillars' programs such as LATH (La Grange Area Transition Housing) and the Constance Morris Home provide shelter for those in our community who are striving to live independent, productive lives.  We are proud to support Pillars, a social service agency that is receptive to the needs of those in our community," says Mikuta.

Pillars is a not-for-profit social service organization that serves more than 10,000 individuals and families in 38 communities every year.  The proceeds from the Pillars Ball ensure that those in need of help are able to access it whenever and wherever they need it, and for as long as necessary.  Pillars' services include: support for older adults who literally have no one else in the world, helping teens overcome addictions, and providing shelter, therapy and job counseling to women who are victims of domestic violence.  To find out about additional services or learn more about Pillars, visit www.pillarscommunity.org.
